Hamdaniyya old students celebrate Ustaz Yusifu Musah 

Old students of Hamdaniyya Islamic School have honoured the proprietor of the institution, Sheikh Yusifu Musah Akpopirebo.

The Hamdaniyya Old Students’ Association (HOSA) undertook a visitation on Sunday, November 3, 2024, to the Alajo branch of the school.

The purpose of the visit was to officially introduce HOSA and to “formally introduce the executives and to present the aims and objectives of the association.”

In his address to the old students and teachers present, a representative of the planning committee, Mallam Ismail emphasized that the event was to officialize the association which till date had been operating at an unofficial status.

“The cardinal principle of gathering today is to foster unity among HOSA members, to pool the material and human resources HOSA has in order to contribute to the progress of Hamdaniyya.

“Additionally, HOSA aims to birth and support educational initiatives as well as support with mentorship and career development initiatives for pupils and students,” Mallam Ismail emphasized.

On his part, Sheikh Yusifu expressed gratitude to HOSA for the visit describing their visit as a source of pride. He emphasized that even as an informal group, old students had in the past pooled resources together to support the school.

He cited the building of a shed at the old Accra New Town branch (Mafia Parliament) and a place of ablution stressing that the two facilities till date continues to serve the area.

Sheikh also praised the old students for their support for the Hamdaniyya Orphan Project. “We’ll all be gone one day but the good that we sow must continue unabated, the biggest progress in life is positively imparting into others.

“Whenever you invest in the lives of others, you get fulfillment in life and Allah also eases your affairs and grants you contentment in this life and you will benefit in the hereafter,” he emphasized. 

Headmaster of the Alajo Branch, Ustaz Abdul Wahab Mahama admonished parents to prioritize their wards attendance to madrasa and announced that on November 23, the school will hold the 2024 edition of its annual graduation ceremony.

HOSA presented an undisclosed cash sum to Sheikh Yusifu and his teacher, Ustaz Ahmed while Sheikh Yusifu was also honoured with a citation from HOSA.
