Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia continued his campaign tour in northern Ghana, returning to the North East region where he visited the Walewale and Salaga North constituencies.
A major engagement he undertook in Walewale was the long-awaited commissioning of a watermelon factory.
In a post on his Facebook page, Bawumia wrote: “I continued my campaign tour of northern Ghana in the Walewale and Salaga North Constituencies on Friday.
“I also commissioned the Walewale Watermelon Processing Plant, whose construction under the One District One Factory programme I had the honour of cutting the sod for in December 2019. The factory will provide at least 400 direct jobs and thousands more for others in the value chain,” he added.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer also said his party “has a long and enviable record of delivering on its promises to the people of Ghana,” adding: “I am certain that with your support on December 7, a Bawumia Presidency will continue this proud tradition with innovative ideas and solutions.”
