Bansi Eliasu Yahaya: History making KNUST College valedictorian

During the 2024 Graduation ceremony at the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST), history was made in one of the colleges of the institution.

The bearer of that feat was a young Muslim known as Bansi Eliasu Yahaya.

Bansi was the valedictorian of the College of Arts and Built Environment after clocking Cumulative Weighted Average (CWA) of 81.04. He received a certificate of honor and an award from the College Registrar for his outstanding performance.

Bansi becomes the first BSc. Real Estate student to emerge as a Valedictorian of the College of Arts and Built Environment since the institution of the Program in 2009.

Iqra Today checks show that he is a native of Garu in the Upper East Region and has Bawku Senior High School as his alma mater.

A page dedicated to KNUST news wrote an eulogy to Bansi and it read as follows:

In the halls of knowledge, a star took flight,
Bansi Eliasu Yahaya, shining bright.
With a CWA of 81.04 in hand,
The first Valedictorian to take a stand.

From Bawku SHS, a journey began,
Through challenges faced, a determined plan.
In the College of Arts, where dreams intertwine,
You’ve made history, a legacy divine.

Since 2009, this milestone stands tall,
A beacon of hope, inspiring us all.
So here’s to your triumph, let the world see,
Bansi, you’ve shown us what greatness can be!
