The University of Ghana celebrated a Muslimah for her sterling academic performance at the recent graduation ceremony.
𝐌𝐬. 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐲𝐚𝐦 𝐘𝐮𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐟 was the Valedictorian at the first session of the ceremony for the College of Basic and Applied Science (CBAS).
“Hers is a story of passion, purpose and perseverance,” UG posted on their Facebook page on February 12, adding:
“From her days at Achimota School, where she studied Home Economics with Biology and Economics, to excelling at the University of Ghana’s Department of Family and Consumer Sciences, Mariyam Yussif has remained committed to improving lives.
“Inspired by an outreach session at her alma mater, she pursued Family and Child Studies with determination, graduating with First Class Honours and an impressive FGPA of 3.94.
“With a heart for social justice and holistic development, Mariyam is set to make a lasting impact in research, policy and advocacy for vulnerable populations.
“Congratulations, Mariyam!”
