‘It’s Allah who takes’ – Mahama consoles Mac Naza’s family

President John Dramani Mahama visited the family of the late Member of Parliament for Ayawaso East, Mahama Naser Toure, on January 5, the day he was buried to pay his condolences to the family.

Mahama, who was in the company of some ministers and deputy ministers and some lawmakers, stressed that the news of Naser’s passing was distressing but that it was essentially the will of Allah.

“Today is not a day for long speeches because the news we received yesterday was very distressing. We knew of his small illness, but I doubt that anyone it would lead to what has happened.

“So, it is the case that Allah gives and takes and it is He who gave and has taken. May Allah have mercy on his soul and forgive his sins. Whatever happens, on Sunday when the funeral takes place at the National Mosque we want to be informed,” he stressed.

The former MP died on January 4, 2026 at the Korle Bu Teaching hospital after a short illness.
