The three-day Annual National Convention of the Ahmadiyya Muslim Mission of Ghana kicked off on Thursday, January 8, at Gomoa Pomadze in the Central Region.
This year’s edition is the 93rd Jalsa Salana which took place at the Bagh-e-Ahmad. The event was graced by Vice President Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, who is the guest of honour.
The theme for this year is “Moral Decadence and Our Responsibilities, in the light of Islamic teachings.” The events lined up include a series of talks over the three days, exhortations, lessons and recitation of the Quran and Urdu poems.
It is worthy of note that President John Dramani Mahama was the Guest of Honour for last year’s gathering, with his attendance at the event being his first engagement outside of the capital after he was sworn into office.
The Ahmadiyya Mission in Ghana are an influential Non-Governmental Organization boasting of strong footprints in the area of education, health and wealth creation efforts.
They are currently led in Ghana by the Ameer and Missionary-In-Charge, Alhajj Maulana Noor Mohammed Bin Salih.
