Two Muslims on 13-Member Board of Ghana Gold Board

The Ghana Gold Board (GoldBod) has gotten its new board sworn into office by the Minister for Finance, Hon. Dr. Cassiel Ato Baah Forson.

The 13-member Board of Directors was inaugurated on May 19, 2025 at the premises of the Ministry for Finance.

Per iQRAToday.com’s tracking two prominent Muslims were listed as members of the Board which is chaired by Mr. Kojo Fynn.

The two Muslims are incidentally both lawyers and would both serve as members of the board. They are Hon. Shaibu Mahama – MP for Daboya/Mankarigu, and Dr. Abdul Baasit Aziz-Bamba – Senior Lecturer, UG School of Law.

Finance Minister in his remarks described the body as a strategic vehicle for achieving effective currency management and bolstering the country’s economic resilience.

In his remarks, the Chairperson of the newly inaugurated board, Mr. Kojo Fynn, assured that the board would serve with humility, uphold the highest standards of good governance, and engage all stakeholders in the execution of its duties. He acknowledged the weighty responsibilities enshrined in the Gold Board’s enabling Act and pledged the board’s full commitment to delivering on its mandate.

8. Mr. Godwin Nichelson Armah – Representative, Ghana Small Scale Miners Association / Member

9. Mr. Kwaku Effah Asuahene – Representative, Chamber of Bullion Traders / Member
