Former Nigerian president Muhammadu Buhari dead

إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعونَ

Former president of Nigeria, Muhammadu Buhari, is dead.

His passing was announced in a terse statement posted on his social media handles and signed by his media aide, Mallam Garba Shehu.

He died at a London clinic where he was seeking medical attention. He was 82 years.

Buhari served as Nigeria’s democratically elected president for eight years, between 2015 and 2023.

He handed over to current president, Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and retired to his home in Daura, Katsina State, before moving to his Kaduna residence from where he flew to London for medical attention.

The family has announced the passing of the former President, Muhammadu Buhari, this afternoon, in a clinic in London.

May Allah accept him in Aljannatul Firdaus, Amin.
