Bawumia, other NPP flagbearer aspirants meet Akufo-Addo

Former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia was present at a meeting of New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer aspirants ahead of their 2026 primary.

The meeting was held at the residence of former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo in Accra and was held in the presence of some national executives and other top-ranking party officials.

In an October 21, 2025 post on his Facebook page, Akufo-Addo wrote: “I have just concluded, this morning, a breakfast meeting with the five Presidential aspirants of our party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), for the 2028 elections.

“Having concluded the internal processes required to make them eligible to contest for the nomination of the Party, I decided to hold this meeting to enable us deliberate, together, on issues of mutual interests pertaining to the unity, welfare and strength of the Party, in the midst of the competitive internal contest.”

Other officials present at the meeting were: the Minority Leader, Hon. Osahen Alexander Kwamena Afenyo-Markin, MP, the former Chief of Staff, Hon. Akosua Frema Osei-Opare and the leadership of our Party, Hon. Hackman Owusu Agyeman, Chairman of the Council of Elders, Mr. Danquah Smith Buttey, Acting Chairman, Mr. Justin Kodua Frimpong, General Secretary.
