The Chief Justice Her Ladyship Gertrude Torkornoo has ordered for some courts closed in the Upper East Region to reopen.
It will be recalled that on October 29, 2024, some courts in the region were closed down due to renewed violence in the Bawku area.
The reason for the closure was to protect lawyers and other stakeholders of the Judiciary in the region considering the volatility in Bawku.
However, a memo sighted by MyNewsGh.com directed Registrars of these courts to take notice and start operations.
The decision to open the courts comes after chiefs and elders in the region through a statement pleaded with the Chief Justice to allow the courts operate.
