Faiza Adam attends World Internet Conference in China

Faiza Chenti Adam, a Google Women Techmakers Ambassador, has shared a recent feat that saw her participate in a World Internet Conference in China.

Faiza, alias CyberBuddie, posted her engagement in Wuzhen on her social media handles, tracing her journey from Takoradi as a little girl through to making representations at the global level doing things she enjoys.

“Today, that girl from Takoradi has been invited as a guest at the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China! This event brings together global leaders and innovators, who are shaping the future of the digital world.

“To stand among such brilliant minds and contribute to conversations that will impact billions is truly humbling. This invitation isn’t just a personal milestone—it’s a reminder of how far I’ve come in advocating for inclusion, internet safety, and digital literacy, especially for women and children through my organization@GirlyTech_Afric,” her post read in part.

When I was a little girl growing up in Takoradi, dreams often felt like luxuries we couldn’t afford.

But I was curious and bold enough to ask, “Why not me?” Through sheer determination and incredible mentors who believed in me, I pursued and built a successful career in cybersecurity, a field that not has remained male dominated.

My journey is proof that where you start doesn’t define where you can go. My journey has been fueled by passion, perseverance, and the incredible support of mentors, mentees, and communities I’ve had the privilege to serve. At this conference, I hope to highlight the power of diverse voices in technology and policy-making, and the importance of building a safer, more inclusive digital future especially for Africans.
