The Bank of Ghana (BoG) has announced official exchange rates for three major currencies – the US dollar, British pound and the Euro.
The buying rate for the dollar, pound and euro are 16.3419, 21.0078 and 19.4934 respectively.
The BoG’s publication of November 11 on their social media accounts is in respect of rates for Friday November 8, 2024. The post follows a long hiatus from publication of rates even though the daily interbank forex rates page on their website remained active.
The last post was on April 19, 2024 at a time the dollar was going for a buying and selling rate of 13.0035 and 13.0135 cedis respectively.
It must be noted that despite official interbank rates, most forex bureaus are selling the dollar for over 17 cedis. The exchange rate has since 2016 been a major point of discussion in political debates especially in the leadup to the 2024 general elections.
