Respected American scholar and cleric, Sheikh Yasir Qadhi visited the Emir of Kano in Nigeria as part of his first trip to Nigeria, which started last week.
In a post on his social media handles, the Dallas-based Sheikh wrote: “Dr. Yasir Qadhi visited the Emir of Kano, His Excellency Dr. Muhammad Sanusi II, along with the esteemed Shaykh @DrBashirAliyu, and presented him with one of his works.
“The Emir is not only a greatly loved political leader of his people, he is also well-read academic, holding multiple degrees in economics and Islamic Law,” the post accompanied by two photos of himself, the Emir and Dr. Bashir Aliyu, read.
Yasir Qadhi’s Nigeria trip started in the commercial capital of Lagos, where he led Jum’ah prayers at the Lekki Central Mosque before delivering a lecture. Over the weekend, he was in Abuja for the 1Ummah conference along with other visiting clerics like Mufti Menk, Wael Ibrahim and Dr, Muhammd Salah.
