Days after attending the swearing in of President John Dramani Mahama, former Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia and his wife have travelled to Saudi Arabia to undertake the lesser pilgrimage, Umrah.
Bawumia shared photos of himself and wife, Samira, around the precincts of the Kabah in Makkah in a Facebook post dated January 10, 2025.
The post was captioned thus: “Together with Hajia Samira Bawumia and some friends, I arrived in Mecca yesterday to perform Umrah (Islamic Pilgrimage to Mecca). This is to thank the Almighty Allah for His grace. We also prayed for guidance and protection for us and for our nation, Ghana.”
