The immediate past Finance Minister and Member of Parliament (MP) for Karaga, Mohammed Amin Adam, has presented the New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) true State of the Nation Address (SONA), days after President John Dramani Mahama, delivered his first SONA since his return to power in January 2025.
The NPP has serially criticized the government’s assessment especially on the stated mismanagement of the economy. The NPP insists that the erstwhile government left a healthy economy to the Mahama government.
Amin Adam in the address that took place in Parliament today (March 3, 2025), provided data to dispute what government has put out to paint the current state of the economy as having been criminally mismanaged.
Some of the highlights he referred to include that President John Dramani Mahama did not end rolling power outages (dumsor) at the time he lost power in 2016. He also insisted that the current government is thriving because of buffers that were left behind by the former government.
