Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has commiserated with the global Roman Catholic community on the death of Pope Francis. The Pope’s death was confirmed by the Vatican in a video message on Easter Monday, April 21, 2025.
He died at the age of 88 and had led the church for over 12 years.
“When I visited him a year ago, he left such a remarkable impression on me as one whose true essence and outlook on life was to live pure and right. I join the Catholic community in Ghana and worldwide to mourn this huge loss. Please accept my most sincere condolences. May his legacy inspire us as we continue to pursue our individual mandates on earth,” the post concluded.
President John Dramani Mahama and former president Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo are two other political leaders to have expressed their condolences over the Pope’s passing.
