2025 Hajj: Pilgrim protests facilities for pilgrims

A pilgrim at the 2025 Hajj has raised concerns about the facilities that the government Taskforce has secured for pilgrims.

Madam Aesha Adam, CEO of Iqra Education Center, in a Facebook post of May 25, 2025 was primarily over the dilapidated state of the building they had been asked to occupy.

“Did any member of the task force Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana inspect this property before paying for it? 430 pilgrims were checked into this dilapidated building to stay for a month since yesterday morning?” she asked before stating that a promise to change their residence had yet to materialize.

Her post was accompanied by a number of videos that showed the run down state of the facility.

There were assurances since yesterday evening that the hotel will be changed today. It’s 3pm here already and there is still no show!!!!!!!
Hajj is a sacred journey. The least we can do is to provide accommodation that is dignifying for human use.

All Ghanaian pilgrims deserve better.

This is what we got for trusting the system.

Hours later she posted an update on the situation: Read the full update below

UPDATE

The occupants of the house have been evacuated but not all could be housed in the new hotel.
The rest are to be moved to another location. It’s 9pm here.
My question still stands, who paid for the first hotel we were checked in?
What processes went on in the run up to the booking?

Ghanaian pilgrims deserve better! Some sufferings are avoidable.
