Until we get experienced professionals, and not politicians, to manage our Hajj processes, we will continue to face these avoidable and unnecessary challenges.
Muslims have been going to Hajj for more than 1400 years. There are best practices across the globe. Every country has at least one year to prepare for the Hajj. This is not Quantum Physics. This is event and (to some extent) project management.
To re-set Hajj operations in Ghana, His Excellency John Dramani Mahama should back the Pilgrims Affairs Office of Ghana with a strong legislation to be constituted with a Board and a Management with a security of tenure of office.
It’s very sad, and very shameful to see how we’ve politicized Hajj operations over the years.
We can certainly do far better than what we are currently witnessing!
