Hakimi scores as PSG win UEFA Champions League

Paris Saint-Germain defender Achraf Hakimi made history on Saturday after scoring in his side’s UEFA Champions League final against Inter Milan.

The Moroccan found the net on the 12th minute mark, writing his name into the history books.

His goal ensured he became the first player to score for a French club in a European Cup final.

According to L’Équipe, the Moroccan international has now succeeded Daniel Dutuel, a former Bordeaux player, after 29 years.

Recall that on 15 May 1996, in the second leg of the UEFA Cup final against Bayern Munich, Dutuel scored a superb free-kick that beat Oliver Kahn.

Hakimi has been impressive for PSG throughout this season. The 26-year-old was instrumental for the Parisians as they secured the French Ligue 1 title. PSG won the final beating Inter Milan by 5 – 0.
