Mahama names Adam Sukparu, 3 others as deputy minister-nominees

President John Dramani Mahama has nominated four individuals to serve as Deputy Ministers, completing the final batch of 60 ministers he pledged to appoint to help run his government.

The announcement of the four was made by Minister of State in Charge of Government Communications, Felix Kwakye Ofosu, in a post on social media.

Among the four nominees is Mohammed Adam Sukparu, Member of Parliament for Sissala East, who has been nominated as Deputy Minister of Communication, Digital Technology and Innovations.

The other nominees include:

  • Dorcas Afo-Toffey, MP for Jomoro – nominated for the position of Deputy Minister of Transport
  • James Gyakye Quayson, MP for Assin North – nominated as Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs
  • Grace Ayensu-Danquah, MP for Essikado-Ketan – nominated as Deputy Minister of Health

Mr. Kwakye Ofosu emphasized that these appointments were made in line with Articles 78(1) and 79(1) of the 1992 Constitution.

The nominees’ names have been submitted to Parliament through the Speaker for prior approval, completing the President’s deputy ministerial selection process.
